This session develops a greater awareness of age and stage-related social and emotional development to help staff identify behavioural triggers and support pupils to self-regulate. Led by Pam Carpenter from Avandra Learning—an Evidence Lead in Education—this workshop explores how to address challenging behaviours and encourage positive outcomes with authentic care and empathy.
By noticing the neuroscience and emotional music behind a pupil’s actions , you will learn to interpret physiological triggers and explore strategies to de-escalate challenging situations. This evidence-informed approach focuses on promoting reflection and connection, supporting pupils to feel safe, steady, and ready to learn.
